Women for Murray Invite

Dear Shrinking Violets,

This is an open invitation to join us for the Women for Murray Day of Canvassing. What’s a better way to bridge the women of this community together than by supporting the woman that helps make this process possible. The Washington State Democratic Coordinated Campaign endorses Senator Patty Murray and we’re working hard to get her re-elected. We’re quickly approaching the August 17th Primary and we’re diving right into our get-out-the-vote campaign. We’re looking for all the support we can get and we invite the Shrinking Violets to join our Women for Murray Day for Canvassing.

“Senator Patty Murray has been a champion for women by making our issues a priority in Congress. She’s worked tirelessly to pass the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and Paycheck Fairness Act because she is determined to eliminate wage discrimination and unfairness in the workplace. She’s fought for women to have the opportunity to make decisions about their bodies by increasing funding for the National Family Planning Program (Title X) and pushing the FDA to make Plan B over the counter. During the heath care debate, she opposed the Stupak amendment and ensured that the final Health Care Bill contained strong protection language. Patty Murray works every day to solve the problems facing women in Washington State.”
- The Patty Murray Campaign

We hope to re-elect Patty Murray so she can continue fighting for women across the country. Without her, our laws that determine our rights over reproductive choices are at risk. Our right to equality in the workplace and access to affordable healthcare, it’s all at risk. We hope to see you Saturday to continue this mission to protect our rights.

The Plan: Meet at the Washington State Democrats Coordinated Campaign Office at Washington & Sprague at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7th. From there we’ll have a group chat and divide ourselves into groups for carpooling. The more support we can get, the more ground we can cover.

Calling all Closeted Cheerleaders!

We have been issued a special invitation to help create a “scene on the street” this Thursday with the P-Jammers, Spokane’s own local alternative marching band.

Hello Ladies,

On behalf of the P-Jammers marching band, I’d like to invite any or all of you to join us for a performance at the Knitting Factory, presented by the Inlander the evening of Thursday, May 27th, 2010.

The show features local musicians. They have asked us to play in the adjoining area outside prior to the show and then enter playing and do a number on stage to kick off the show, which begins at 8 p.m. Our mission is to create a “wild and crazy, fun atmosphere”. I would be interested in adding flag bearers, baton twirlers, dancers, cheerleaders, hula hoopers, bubble blowers, or what have you, to this, and other possible future events.

Please let me know of any interest you may have.

Thanks,

Greg Youmans, P-Jammers Marching Band
