Scrapbooking in the Attic

We haven’t had a craft party in a while and who doesn’t have some half-finished scrapbooking project stuffed away in the closet somewhere? Or if you’re not into scrapbooking, come and join us to make some pretty all-purpose cards, book marks, or other paper art.

Date: Saturday, June 26, 2010
Time: 3:00pm – 7:00pm
Location: In Mariah and Kara’s Sweet Ass Attic
Street: 1721 W. Riverside Apt. B

Bring: Scissors, stickers, paper, pens, stamps, tape, glue, decorations, ribbon, pictures, photo albums, die-cuts, hole punches, etc. And a snack or beverage of your choice to share.

Our land lord has generously allowed us to use the empty studio apartment in the attic of our mansion for this event. We will have everything set up with tables and chairs so we can be in one big room together, this will be fun. See you there!

Fructose Free BBQ Sauce

I was complaining about the high fructose corn syrup in the Longhorn BBQ sauce I bought a while back at Yoke’s. Stephanie Smith turned right around and shared this delicious recipe from Very Vegetarian.

Saute 1 medium diced onion, 2 teaspoons (I use more) minced garlic, 1 tablespoon chili powder, and 1 teaspoon dry mustard in a little oil or water for 5 minutes or until onion is soft.

Add 1.5 cups tomato ketchup (I use homemade), 1/2 cup vinegar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons mushroom soy sauce (I omit, can’t ever find it here), 2 teaspoons molasses, and 1/3 cup sugar.

Mix well and simmer 15 minutes.

Enjoy!
